Cherokee is consistently an outstanding school in large part because of the involvement of our families. Volunteers gifts of time and talent are greatly valued and have a tremendous impact on our school. Please take a moment to read about the volunteer opportunities. There is an opportunity to match every talent and a task to match every schedule.

 

ARTS AND EDUCATION

ART MASTERPIECE – Lead art presentations in the classroom and help students develop artist-inspired work to be displayed during the Cherokee Art Walk; all materials and background information is provided; variable number of hours from TBD.

ART WALK/OPEN HOUSE – Assist in hanging art work; perform assigned duties during the Art Walk Open House; 

 

COMMUNITY RELATIONS - Cherokee Gives Back

HOLIDAY ANGEL – Assist in distributing Holiday Angel cards the week before Thanksgiving break; help coordinate and deliver gifts to recipient school – November

BOOK BONANZA – Help count and sort books during collection week. Help sell and organize books during the sale. Collection and set-up.  

 

FUNDRAISING

READ-A-THON

COMMUNITY/PASSIVE FUNDRAISING – Assist in identifying, organizing, and promoting community fundraising events at area restaurants and shops. Also, help to establish partnerships with area supermarkets and other retailers.

SPRING AUCTION FUNDRAISER – Feeling lucky? Our main adult social event of the year that will include our live and online auction.

 

SCHOOL EVENTS

FALL SOCIAL –  Adult social event. A great way to get to know your fellow Cherokee families. Enjoy a casual evening hosted at a premier Estate in the valley with food, fun, and beverages. We hope to see you there! Details to follow in backpacks and newsletter. 

TRUNK OR TREAT – Classroom Trunk Decorating Contest, Food Trucks, Bounce Houses, Cake Walk and MORE!!  Cherished Cherokee Event!

 

SCHOOL RELATIONS

PICTURE DAYS – Keep students organized and gorgeous on picture days.

TEACHER APPRECIATION – Prepare items (such as salads, casseroles or baked goods) for Teacher Appreciation events; minimal time commitment.  

SPIRIT WEAR – Help chair promote spirit wear purchasing and then help distribute to classes: throughout the year.

END OF YEAR VOLUNTEER HAPPY HOUR – Work with chair to organize event.

YEARBOOK – Help assemble pages for the school yearbook; variable time commitment.

SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHER – Take photo’s at events for yearbook images; variable time.

 

SCHOOL SUPPORT – ON Campus Volunteers Click here for Information on Approval and Badge

PARKING LOT – Expedite the carpool process during drop-off and pick-up; regularly scheduled times through the school year.

LIBRARY – Help Librarian shelve and maintain books; help students with selecting and checking out books; 1-2 regularly scheduled hours, once a week or every other week through the school year.

ART ROOM HELPERS – Assist art teacher in the classroom with students and between classes. Help organize art supplies.

CAFE ASSISTANCE – Assist cafeteria during lunch time to watch kids.
